Statement
My Brother,
We have to prepare for our future. We are facing different challenges today than our leaders have faced in the past and we need modern solutions.
Grand Lodge’s main purpose is to support our blue lodges. They especially need support in the areas of membership retention, along with training and resources to prepare our leaders to effectively run our lodges and provide meaningful and interesting programs that will keep our members active and engaged.
In my professional career, I served as a leader and as a part of the administrative team of my local police department. I have acquired the necessary experience and developed the skillset required to effectively lead our Grand Lodge. My skills include; assessing and preparing budgets, policy creation, problem solving, personnel management, critical thinking, decision making, communication and leadership skills. I am also very frugal and would do my best to cut any unnecessary spending and to reduce operating costs where possible.
As a Mason I have been pleased to serve as Worshipful Master of Laurel Lodge No. 237, District Ritual Instructor of the 18th Masonic District, District Deputy Grand Master, Grand Orator and I currently serve as your Grand Marshal. I also served as a Masonic Charity Foundation Trustee and as a member of the Strategic Planning and Appeals and Grievances Committees. In each of these positions I have learned many valuable lessons that have prepared me to serve on the elected line. Basically, I can hit the ground running.
I am not running for the office of Grand Master, I am running to serve in each of the elected line positions and support those ahead of me and those coming behind me. The ability to work as a member of a team is critical when considering a candidate for office in our Grand Lodge.
My Brother, I love our fraternity, and if elected, I will always strive do what is right and what is best for our membership as a whole.
Fraternally yours,
Bernard J. Madgey, V
